What is the 'Unequal Tolerances' feature?
Previously, measurement 'tolerance' values were defined using one value only, meaning the value for upper and lower tolerances were always the same value.
Our new 'Unequal Tolerances' feature allows you to set different values for your upper and lower measurement tolerances – improving the accuracy of your measurement charts.
The 'acceptance range' is still calculated using the same formula, however, now the lower and upper tolerance values can be different from each other:
Acceptance Range = [Standard Value - Lower Tolerance Value, Standard Value + Upper Tolerance Value]
- This feature is available upon request only.
- Once enabled, you will see this feature in:
- The Measurement Chart section of your Bookings
- The Measurement Section of the Inspectorio mobile platform
After this feature has been enabled for your organization, it will appear in the Measurement Chart section of your Bookings. (Click here to learn more about how to use the Measurement Chart section).
To add unequal tolerances to your Measurement Chart:
Simply type the relevant values into the 'Tolerance Upper' and 'Tolerance Lower' fields.
On the mobile platform, you will also see Unequal Tolerances in the Measurement section. (Click here to learn more about how to use the Measurement section).
Your Inspectors will also see two tolerance values for every Point of Measurement (An Upper and a Lower tolerance).
They will also be able to provide an upper and a lower tolerance when editing POMs on the mobile platform.
